Morning Musings – March 27

Whew! It seems like the weekend flew by. I mean seriously can I get a do over?!

Although I am not sure why I need a do over because I did not really do a whole heck of a lot this weekend. I feel tired though and not ready for the new work week to begin.

Saturday was a slow start for me. I was very laissez faire about getting moving in the morning. Maybe I was saving my energy for the 3 hour workout I knew I had later in the day. Yes you read that right, I had a 3 hour long dance fit Master Class I was attending hosted by Charmaine of Caribbean Vibez. The theme was Jamaica vs. Puerto Rico and it was a fun trip to the islands. This was an amazing event and I had a blast. All of the instructors were amazing. I seriously need to bottle up their energy to get me through this week.

Prior to attending the class, I had to stop by The Mini Doughnut Factory to get some sweet treats for after the class. I had been talking about my love for these mini confections and I thought this would be a perfect time to share these treats and no one would feel guilty about the calories.

As expected, they were a hit and everyone loved them. I felt bad because I did not have enough to go around. Next time I will have to bring more.

Sunday started much like Saturday with my having to pry myself out of the bed. I definitely felt all 3 hours of that workout by then. This would have been a great time to have a significant other who could have rubbed me down and massaged all of the soreness out of my limbs. I don’t though so a warm bath had to do.

Fun time at @rmhctampabay making dinner!

My only motivation for leaving the house was attending a volunteer activity with my fellow Tampa Bay Bloggers at the Ronald McDonald House. We cooked a delicious meal of bacon meatloaf muffins, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables and lemon bars for the families staying in the house.

When the meatloaf needs mixing! 😆 Thanks for the shot @tampamomruns! @rmhctampabay

After cooking for the families, I was hungry and I knew I would not be cooking for myself when I got home so I went to dinner at Ava. I enjoyed an awesome pasta dish that filled me up and had me ready for bed.

Tell me about your weekend. Was it busy and productive or lazy and relaxed?

That’s exactly what I think every time I visit the shop. I limit the number I buy because otherwise I would eat way too many. I think my record is about 12 but usually I get between 3-6.

Those look like some seriously amazing donuts! I’m not a donut girl, but I’ve been craving them like crazy lately…perhaps it has something to do with not allowing myself to have chocolate for Lent!

That is very possible. I wish I could blame my cravings on Lent … but I am always craving sweets.

Those mini donuts look so delicious. I love donuts and cupcakes, and a dance workout is a great way to burn those calories right off.

Now, I want a donut! That’s awesome that you get together with others in your community to serve though.

Kasi, those doughnuts are cryptonite. I could eat them every single day.

Sounds like a pretty wonderful weekend to me! I too have trouble prying myself out of bed on the weekends. Your dance master class sounds like a blast to me and I’m sure you were sore Sunday and even more Monday!

I really do want to #eatlikeTia these meals look amazing! I had a big pile of pasta for dinner myself, so maybe that was a step in the right direction!

I would say so, great minds think alike and we were both thinking about pasta.

I’m not a big fan of donuts, but I DO love anything mini sooo I’d go for these 😉 Someone asked about my weekend Monday and I couldn’t remember what I did…it was all cleaning related :/ I did get a nice long run in for my pre-marathon training so that was good. Hope to not be stuck inside so much this coming weekend!

I need a weekend like yours where I do nothing but clean. I hope you are able to get out for more than just a run this upcoming weekend.

Sounds like you had a wonderful but busy weekend. I really enjoyed reading about it. I don’t think I could survive a 3 hour workout but I definitely would give it a try.
