Lunch on the Low: Turkey Time at Earl of Sandwich

Earl of Sandwich Tampa Bay is located at International Plaza. It was recently relocated from Bay Street to inside the food court within the mall.  I was invited for a complimentary tasting in exchange for sharing my experience with you.

Earl of Sandwich specializes in sandwiches (hence the name) but also serves salads, flatbreads, and soup.  I had the pleasure of sampling two of the Fall Features, both of which highlight turkey as we enter Fall and prepare for Turkey Day. I mean, why wait for leftovers when you can enjoy some traditional Thanksgiving foods right now, right?!

The Holiday Turkey will definitely put you in a festive mood. The sandwich is filled with turkey, cornbread stuffing, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce and mayonnaise.

The limited time special is the Turkey Apple & Brie sandwich which joins the line-up of signature hot sandwiches.  When I tell you this is a darn good sandwich, I am not lying. Seriously this is my new favorite sandwich. It is topped with sliced turkey, melted brie, sliced green apples and cranberry sauce.  You know I like it sweet and this made is a perfect balance of sweet and savory.

To complete the meal I picked up some chips and dessert of course.  They have house-baked sweet treats available and while they are all pretty good, the Ghirardelli brownie is a real treat. This brownie is everything! Like seriously if you get it and don’t like it, I might think there is something wrong with you. It is rich and chocolatey, exactly what I desire for dessert.

Even though these are the only two I sampled, there are plenty of other turkey options available on the menu.  Other options include the traditional Turkey and Swiss sandwich & The Turkey Wrap which combines turkey, cheddar, Roma tomato and light mayo in a whole wheat wrap that is only 370 calories.

Earl of Sandwich is a place I have frequented for years because it is a great place for me to grab a quick, yet good lunch when I only have pennies in my pocket. Meals are typically less than $10 which makes for a great lunch on the low for my Frugal Foodies.

Have you ever eaten at Earl of Sandwich? If so what is your favorite?

Apples on a sandwich? Hmmmm I don’t know and now I am curious to know how that tastes. It looks good though so I might have to give it a try!

You should try it Kita, it’s really good. I add fruit to my sandwiches and salads at home all of the time.

We don’t have any Earl of Sandwich in my area but aiblive the name. This is a great idea, I live a leftover turkey sandwich.

I would have to go with the Turkey/Brie. Meat and cheese are supposed to be together…no other food should touch! LOL Cranberry Sauce on a sandwich just sounds wrong to me.

Lol! I have no problem with my food touching, but I know a lot of people who feel like you. The Turkey and Brie is very good.

Yes Tanya, I am hoping they add the Turkey and Brie to the menu permanently.

I’m not much of a sandwich person but the options look tasty. Which would you recommend?

I love sandwiches so I love the Turkey and Brie, The Hawaiian (with spinach added) and the Full Montagu. If you don’t prefer sandwiches, they do have a variety of salads too.

I’ll have to try them out the next time I’m in Tampa! The turkey-apple-brie sandwich looks delicious. The brownie is calling my name. lol

Great post, Tia! I’ve never been there. I’ll have to look for locations near me while I’m traveling over the Thanksgiving holidays. I’d love to try the turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce. It looks yummy.

I haven’t eaten here because I’m not much of a sandwich person. However, I must admit that the holiday sandwich sounds amazing or maybe it’s simply because I LOVE cornbread! lol

I love cornbread but I am more of a sweet cornbread girl, this one is a bit more savory.

I haven’t eaten here but if I could I would try it. My husband is more of a sandwich person – I’m not big on bread. But this looks delicious and worth at least a bit of Mr Blakes sandwich.
