So I do not know how Chicken Salad Chick has existed in Tampa for the last year and I did not know about it until recently. I initially learned about Chicken Salad Chick through Yelp. It came coming up as one of the Best of Yelp on my home page. So needless to say, I was delighted to have the opportunity through my affiliation with Tampa Bay Bloggers to try it for myself and share my opinions with you. As you know even though my meal was complimentary, my words were not bought and this review is true based off of my experience.
Chicken Salad Chick was founded by Stacy Brown who was on a quest to find the best chicken salad. After she developed what she considered her perfect recipe, her business was born. Through word of mouth, the business grew and eventually turned into a restaurant.
The owners of Chicken Salad Chick Tampa are Brad and Tammy Cochran. They are two of the most lovely people you may ever meet. They are the epitome of southern hospitality and their desire is for you to feel like family in their restaurant.
The specialty of the restaurant is chicken salad and there are 15 flavors available. I was able to sample 8 flavors including The Classic Carol, Fancy Nancy, Kickin Kay Lynne, Sassy Scotty, Cranberri Kelli, Olivia’s Old South, Dixie Chick, and Jalapeno Holly.
My favorite was the Dixie Chick but I also really like the Cranberri Kelli and the Jalapeno Holly.
You can order your chicken salad is available in a variety of combinations. All of the following combinations can also be adjusted to fit your tastes and preferences.
The Original Chick
The Original Chick includes your choice of any sandwich or scoop and one side pickle spear and the cookie of the day.
The Gourmet Chick
The Gourmet Chick includes your choice of any sandwich or scoop and two sides, pickle spear and the cookie of the day.
The Chick Trio
The Chick Trio includes your pick of any three chicken salads or side items served on a bed of lettuce accompanied by a pickle spear with crackers.
In addition to the variety of chicken salad flavors, there is also a variety of sides items as well.
My favorites were the grape salad and the baked potato soup. After tasting them all, I do not think you can go wrong with any of the choices available as a side item.
Along with the chicken salad and sides, you know I had to get a taste of the sweets. The seasonal dessert is a Pumpkin Cheesecake. I am not a fan of pumpkin flavored desserts but this is good. I was very surprised with how much I ate; I would totally order this again. The flavor of the cookie changes daily. We visited on the Snickerdoodle day. I love that they add the little sweet treat to most of the meal options.
Although the specialty is chicken salad, you can also order a traditional deli sandwich as well. Chicken Salad Chick Tampa also offers catering and has a private room which can be reserved for large groups or events.
I encourage you to visit Chicken Salad Chick for yourself if you have one in your area. Chicken Salad Chick is a perfect place for my Frugal Foodies to grab a lunch (or dinner) on the low.
