Happy Hour Hotspot: Taps Restaurant Bar & Lounge

I really find it important to maintain my girlfriendships so when I find I have lost contact, I always try to make contact and reconnect. I met my girl Alex when she moved to Tampa from Atlanta for her new job. I truly feel like our friendship was predestined because I met her through another friend whom she doesn’t even really talk to much anymore. She and I clicked immediately and seemed to have a lot in common. Unfortunately life gets in the way and we do not see each other often but I always enjoy her company when we do.

After a few attempts, we scheduled a meetup at the International Plaza because it was convenient for both of us to meet after work. If you know me you know I love happy hour. And she knows me, so happy hour it was. After evaluating all of the possible options, we chose to enjoy happy hour at Taps Restaurant & Bar.

It was a beautiful day in Tampa and Taps has covered outdoor seating which allowed us to enjoy the nice day while people watching and catching up.

We ordered the Bavarian Pretzel, Baked Meatball, Chipotle BBQ Wings and the Mac-N-Cheese.

Since I am trying to lose a little weight I elected not to have a libation but Alex enjoyed a few mimosas (which I neglected to photograph unfortunately).

Each of these items were just $5 so this made for a very affordable and delicious girls night out.  After this experience, I can definitely recommend happy hour at Taps Restaurant & Bar.

It was really nice to reconnect and catch up with my girl Alex; it had been way too long. My friendships keep me rejuvenated and grounded so I need this time. We recommitted to meeting up at least monthly, which was our original plan to stay in touch.

I hear so many great things about TAPS, but I haven’t gotten around to trying it yet. The food looks delicious! My favorite bonding activity with friends is definitely dining in great restaurants.

Yes sharing a great meal is a perfect bonding experience for me. What are some of your favorite restaurants?

The food looks yummy. Here in Seville, tapas are the norm even though they are much cheaper than Tampa prices. I think l would OD on margaritas during that happy hour. Something l miss all the time over here 🙂

Yes, tapas are a great way to sample several items on the menu during one experience. I will be in northern Spain in November and I cannot wait. I love Spanish food.

The pretzel was good. I am surprised at how many menus now feature these pretzels in our area.

The food looks so good, especially that pretzel. I love a nice happy hour as well or a nice restaurant to catch up with an old friend.

I love catching up with friends. Until recently, my fave activity to catch up with friends would be eating out. Since I am trying to be more financially responsible, I have been inviting friends over to catch up.

I totally understand. I love to cook so I enjoy meals at home as well. Entertaining at home is definitely better for the budget but when I am splurging I love choose happy hour for an inexpensive treat.

My favorite bonding is food for sure, that is my love language period. Those wings and mac & cheese look good. Hanging with my girls allows me to let my hair down a bit and sip a cocktail.

That food looks great! I’m always a dinner/lunch date kinda girl when it comes to booking up with friends. Every now and again I propose getting together over a good workout like a long walk or class

That’s a great idea. It is a great way to bond while 1) not spending any money and 2) accomplishing your fitness goals.

Our favorite bonding activity is getting together to eat. Doesn’t matter where, as long as we can have a good time and laugh. Great food photos!
