This weekend I was unexpectedly in town for the long weekend. I was planning to travel to Texas to visit friends but due to Hurricane Harvey, I decided to stay at home instead. As a result, I was able to attend the Bourbon & Bluegrass Southern Tasting Event at Marchand’s in The Vinoy.
Admission to Bourbon & Bluegrass is free with the selection of the tasting menu for $38. The tasting included a specialty 3-Course southern meal created by the chefs at Marchand’s. A variety of specialty cocktails are available for purchase along with free bourbon tastings to accompany your meal.
(Watermelon with Farmers Cheese, Mint, Jalapeno, Pea Tendril, Shaved Radish and Cucumber Vinaigrette)
(Shelled with Ham Hock and served with Wonder Bread)
Chicken and Waffles
(Bone In Chicken, Sausage Gravy, Stewed Green Beans, Waffle Bread Pudding and Maple Beurre Blanc)
Honey Glazed Pork Belly
(Hardwood Smoked Pork Belly, Grits, Celery, Succotash)
(Cream Cheese Ice Cream & Pecan Tuile)
(Cheddar Two Ways & Brown Sugar Ice Cream)
Unlike some prixe-fixe specials, this 3-course meal includes full-size portions at $38. This is an incredible deal for a night out at The Vinoy.
Do not fret if you missed Bourbon & Bluegrass this weekend because the event will occur again next weekend as well. For more details on the event here.
